ESGnews.bg will announce the winners of its first ESG awards on September 19 at a special ceremony to be held at the Hilton Sofia Hotel. Applications for the awards began on March 1, and the deadline for applications is May 31.
Participation In the “ESG AWARDS” contest is open to organizations from all spheres of activity, which are registered to participate in the Republic of Bulgaria – commercial companies, non-governmental organizations, educational institutions and others.

The awards will be distributed in four categories:
- Sustainable strategy
- Resilient leader
- Sustainable investor
- Sustainable supply chain management
Two special prizes will be awarded – ESGnews.bg readers’ prize and ESGnews.bg team prize.
After the end of the application period (May 31) our prestigious jury, which includes George Kremlinis – Honorary Director of the European Commission; Darinka Georgieva – Executive Director of the Bulgarian Network of the UN Global Compact; Prof. Dr. Marina Stefanova – director of the Master’s program “Responsible and Sustainable Management” at the Faculty of Economics; Ivelina Vassileva – member of the board of the Mission for the protection of the ocean, seas and inland waters of the European Commission; Valia Yordanova – coordination methodologist of the Educational and Methodological Council at IDES.
They will assess applicants using a special methodology developed in partnership with the academic community.

Prize of the readers of ESGnews.bg
Every year in the competition a prize will be awarded by the readers of ESGnews.bg, which will be voted in a poll on the site. In the first edition of the ESG awards, various companies will collect votes for their project on the topic “Best practices in the field of recycling and sustainable waste management”. The survey will run on the site from May 15 to June 15 2024.
ESGnews.bg calls on all organizations that share the commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility to join this important initiative and share their stories and achievements.
