The first specialized media for promoting ESG in Bulgaria ESGnews.bg announced in February the launch of its “ESG AWARDS”. They aim to distinguish and promote companies and organizations that make outstanding efforts in the field of sustainability and social responsibility.
“The ESG AWARDS are our initiative to celebrate and encourage leading examples in the field of sustainable development and corporate responsibility in Bulgaria. With the awards, we want to emphasize the importance of leading practices in the field of ESG and to inspire more organizations to get involved and integrate the principles of sustainability in their strategies”, said Bozhidara Zhivkova, editor-in-chief of ESGnews.bg.
Organizations from all spheres of activity registered in the Republic of Bulgaria – commercial companies, non-governmental organizations, educational institutions, etc. – can take part in the competition. Participation in the contest is completely free, and the application deadline is May 31, 2024.
After the end of the application period, our prestigious jury will evaluate the participants in the competition and at a special ceremony on September 19 at the Hilton Sofia Hotel, we will announce the winners and present them with the prestigious awards.
Winners will be awarded in four main categories
- Sustainable strategy
- Resilient leader
- Sustainable investor
- Sustainable supply chain management
Along with the main categories, there will also be a special prize for ESGnews.bg readers, which will be voted on on the ESGnews.bg website between May 15th and June 15th 2024. This year, the topic of the survey is “Best practices in the field of recycling and sustainable waste management”.
The strategic partners of the competition are the Faculty of Economics and the ESG Lab of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and the Bulgarian Network of the UN Global Compact.
ESGnews.bg calls on all organizations that share the commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility to join this important initiative and share their stories and achievements.
