ESGnews.bg, the first Bulgarian media platform, promoting ESG in Bulgaria, will present its “ESG AWARDS” for the first time at a special ceremony, which will be held on September 19 at the Hilton Sofia Hotel at 5:30 p.m. Strategic partners of the competition are the Bulgarian Network of the UN Global Compact and the Faculty of Economics and ESG Lab of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.
Special guests at the awards ceremony will be the Executive Director of the UN Global Compact Network in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, Antonio Hautle, who will tell the audience about foreign experiences in the field of ESG and how businesses are addressing the challenges of ESG.
The honorary chairman of the “ESG AWARDS” jury, George Kremlis, will hold a visionary conversation on stage with Ivelina Vasileva, Member of the Board of the Mission for the Protection of Oceans, Seas and Inland Waters at the European Commission.
Academically Expert Awards
Our prestigious jury evaluated the applicants according to a special methodology developed in partnership with the academic community. The winners of the “ESG AWARDS” contest will be honored in four categories (“Sustainable Strategy”, “Sustainable Leader”, “Sustainable Investor” and “Sustainable Supply Chain Management”). Two special awards will also be presented – an award for ESGnews.bg readers and an award from the ESGnews.bg team.
Readers of ESGnews.bg will have the opportunity every year to participate in an online survey on the site and choose the company that, in their opinion, most deserves to receive an award for its project on a certain topic. This year, the topic of the survey was “Best practices in the field of recycling and sustainable waste management”, and the company that received the most votes in the site’s survey was DMD ECO WORLD.
The “ESG AWARDS” will not only recognize companies that achieve results in the field of environmental, social responsibility and governance (ESG), but also serve as an inspiration for others to follow their example. “ESG AWARDS” are not just trophies of success, but a commitment to long-term sustainable practices and proof that sustainable development is a top priority in the activities of the awarded companies.
