The largest employers’ organization in Bulgaria, “Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria” (KRIB) confirms its commitment to high ESG standards with the establishment of an ESG committee to its Management Board. This important decision is the result of the efforts of KRIB member companies to achieve higher standards of sustainability and social responsibility.
Although ESG principles are not new, they are becoming more significant at a time when consumers and investors are increasingly looking to companies that actively pursue sustainable practices and responsible behavior. The creation of an ESG committee by KRIB is not only a declaration of commitment to sustainability and responsibility, but also a practical step towards the implementation of specific policies and strategies that will encourage businesses to achieve their goals in these areas.
The establishment of the committee was held today at the headquarters of the organization. The ESG Committee was supported by over 50 representatives of various companies operating in Bulgaria and members of KRIB. Boyan Tomov, manager of Brand Media Bulgaria and owner of the first platform in Bulgaria that deals primarily with issues related to environmental, social and corporate management ESGnews.bg, was unanimously elected as the chairman of the new structure.
The vice-chairmen of the committee will be Sofia Kasidova (Bulgarian Development Bank), Kamelia Slaveikova (Shell Bulgaria) and Mariyana Hamanova (Cleantech Bulgaria).
ESG principles have become a major focus for many companies worldwide
As a result of this trend, many companies in Bulgaria and around the world are actively looking for ways to implement ESG practices in their business strategies. The ESG Committee will work to inform business about regulations and innovations related to sustainable development, support SMEs in their transformation by conducting trainings, seminars and initiatives related to ESG practices, as well as enabling them to understand and apply effectively the principles of sustainability in their investment strategies.
The establishment of an ESG committee by the largest employer organization in Bulgaria is an important step in adapting to modern requirements for sustainability and social responsibility. This demonstrates the organization’s commitment to creating a better future and highlights the importance of ESG practices for business.
